My visit to Jordan-Hare Stadium was one I had wanted to make for a long time. On October 24, 2026, Auburn hosted No. 18 LSU in an 11 a.m. kickoff, and I made the trip to The Plains with my kid. Auburn was coming off a 27-24 win at Georgia the week before, so there was plenty of buzz around campus heading into the game.

I will be honest up front. My kid spent the whole game on the move, and I spent the whole game keeping up, so I did not get a single photo of my own. The stadium photos in this post come from other photographers and are credited at the bottom. The ticket is mine.

The game itself got away from Auburn early. LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt threw three touchdown passes, including a 70-yarder in the second quarter, and ran one in himself with 21 seconds left in the half. LSU took a 31-10 lead into the locker room. LSU finished with 552 yards of offense and seven sacks and won 38-17.

Here are my thoughts on Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Pros

The tailgating is amazing. People had tents set up in every area of campus leading up to the stadium, and the whole walk in felt like one big gathering. If you are coming to Auburn for a game, give yourself time before kickoff to take it all in.

The fans stick around. The crowd was into the game when it mattered, and even after LSU pulled away, the stands stayed full until late in the fourth quarter. Seeing a fan base stay with its team after the outcome has been decided stood out to me more than anything else from this visit.

The food and drink options are plentiful, and there is more on the way. Parts of the concourse are under construction, so the options should only get better over the next few seasons.

My seats were in Section 40, Row 42, Seat 14. They were complimentary seats from Auburn Athletics, so I did not have to pay for them.

It is a great place to bring a kid. Mine loved the game, even if more of the day was spent running around the concourse than watching the field. Between the crowd and all the space to explore, there is plenty to keep a young fan entertained.

Cons

Parking is expensive, and it is not close. I paid $62 with fees to park at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. From there, I tipped a golf cart driver $20 for a ride to the stadium. The rides are a nice option, but plan for the extra cost and time.

The heat can sneak up on you. It was a cool morning before the game, but it warmed up quickly once the 11 a.m. kickoff came around. Dress in layers and bring sunscreen.

Once the game got out of hand, the air left the stadium. That is no knock on the fans, who stayed in their seats, but the building lost its edge in the second half.

Overall Game Day Experience

I would give Jordan-Hare Stadium a 10 out of 10. The result did not go Auburn’s way, but the tailgating, the crowd and the way the fans stuck around made this one of the best college football atmospheres I have experienced. Even with a kid pulling me all over the concourse, it was a day I will not forget.

If you are working your way through SEC stadiums, Jordan-Hare is a must. Get there early for the tailgates, plan ahead for parking and stay until the end.
